Co-Creation Live Factory 1 : Cooperation with Venice International Performance Art Week 2017

CO-CREATION LIVE FACTORY Prologue 1 is a project conceived by artist duo VestAndPage (Verena Stenke & Andrea Pagnes) and independent curator Francesca Carol Rolla, realized by Studio Contemporaneo non-profit cultural association in cooperation with Live Arts Cultures non-profit cultural association, We Exhibit, Venice Open Gates, with the in-kind support by the European Cultural Centre | GAA Foundation.

The concept developed out of the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK’s core mission and its Educational Learning Program, aiming to empower artists to articulate and develop their individual praxis within an independent temporary autonomous zone of co-creation.

30 selected participant artists will benefit of 8 days of intensive co-creation workshop and a lecture program on specific topics structured in the form of roundtables and open dialogues, both led by internationally recognized performance artists with extensive artistic and pedagogic experience.

The culmination of the 8 days co-creation process will be open to the public. It will consist of two evenings of official final performances on December 15 and 16, 2017, with an exhibition section displaying performance pedagogical material. The hosting venues will be transformed into a dynamic performance site through a series of collective performance operas as well as collaborative and solo performances within a recognized international art platform as it is the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK.

Below the Line : Cooperation with WIPAW – Warsaw Performance Art Weekend 2016

Leading up to the very first international edition of WIPAW – Warsaw Performance Art Weekend 2016, the FRINGE section „BELOW THE LINE“ is intended to strengthen the capacity and critical discourse of the local / regional performative arts community, and to foster relationships with international networks, such as between Poland and Germany.

„BELOW THE LINE“ is dedicated to emerging artists and students from Poland and Germany, representing an avantgarde contemporary approach, a strong diversity of styles, artistic research and understanding of current affairs in our adjacent societies.

Under the thematic of “TURBULENCE”, this series, follows also the intent to highlight valuable experiences, which ground Performance Art in a political discourse of art history and social-political environments, in order to continue and maintain a strong sense of actuality, deserving to be remembered without declared appositive cultural intention.

In collaboration with other international invited artist „BELOW THE LINE“ will be also enriched by a series of artist talks and a workshop/studio program as one of the important components of this FRINGE section.
